I walked into our family room this morning and it smelled kind of musty. I looked around, but didn't see any water leaking. Then I walked into the living room. The carpet was entirely soaked with water and it was leaking into our basement.
Apparently, our refrigerator decided to start leaking a day or two earlier. The good part is that the insurance is covering the damage. We have fans everywhere and the restoration company says that it will take 3-5 days to dry out everything. I guess we get to buy a new refrigerator now.
Just a minor hiccup compared to other people's problems, so we will deal with it.

A lot has happened in the last year. Alyssa moved to Orem and is working as a business manager for Provo College. Michael moved to Dallas, Texas and is currently taking courses online from Berkley College in Boston. Katie decided to spread her wings. She moved to St. George on the 15th of May. She is a CNA and hopes to land a job there.
So Jackie and I are alone for the moment. It is a good time for us to reconnect a little bit and reflect on our life together. We love our family. We have had things happen to us that we never imagined would happen. My heart has a mixture of joy and sadness. Joy for the positive things that have transpired, despite bad circumstances. Sadness because the world has influenced young people to not believe in God and seek his guidance. True happiness only comes from doing what is right.

Emergency Room Visits

Katie and I went to the emergency room a total of three times in the space of seven days.
Katie got a kidney stone on June 26th and had to go to the ER for pain management. Then we had to go back again the next day.
On July 3rd, I accidentally cut my left ring finger when an electric hedge clipper bucked back after it hit a large branch on our dogwoods. As a result, I had to go to the ER as well.
On July 7th, I had to have the nerve and artery repaired on that finger. Dr. Sanderson did a great job, but the finger will remain numb for a few months.
